Anderman & Company
Marketing Strategy & Brand Foundation
The Challenge
Anderman & Company brought R.R Marketing in to help shape their marketing strategy. On review, despite strong performance and long-standing client partnerships, it was clear their marketing approach hadn't kept pace with the rest of the business and crucially, there wasn't a clearly defined mission, vision, or set of values to build that structure on. Without that foundation, messaging lacked cohesion, making it difficult to communicate their core strengths consistently or differentiate clearly in a competitive marketplace.
The Approach
To build the mission, vision, and values from the ground up, rather than handing the business something off the shelf, I ran a full-day workshop with senior managers. Beforehand, attendees were asked to research competitors and reflect on what Anderman & Company genuinely meant to them, so the day had a real foundation to work from rather than starting cold.
Not everyone arrived convinced it would lead anywhere. Some in the group had sat through similar exercises before and come away with little more than a polished set of phrases that never actually changed how anyone worked, and there was the added complexity of bringing together perspectives across both UK and France, where culture and ways of working don't always line up neatly. I made sure every voice was heard and pushed past the easy answers, and what emerged through the day's discussions were clear, recurring themes — customer focus, innovation, reliability — along with a sharper understanding of what those themes actually meant to clients. By the end of the day, the scepticism in the room had given way to something the team had built together, rather than something done to them.
From there, a half-day follow-up session gave the leadership team space to refine the language for clarity and impact, before the final draft was reviewed with key clients and the wider organisation, checking it held up against both internal reality and external expectation before anything was signed off.
The Outcome
The finalised mission, vision, and values now give Anderman & Company a solid foundation for their marketing strategy, increasingly built into external messaging, client conversations, and how the business communicates more broadly. Because the values came out of the room rather than being handed down, the senior team across both UK and France could see themselves in them, which is what's made it possible to carry them through into the business, not just print them on a page. That clarity is now helping shape the company's direction for future growth, with new initiatives able to be checked against a set of values the leadership team actually believe in.
“What stood out was how much Ralph actually listened, rather than coming in with a template and asking us to fit into it. He took the time to understand our business, across both the UK and France, and brought everyone together in a way that meant the values we landed on genuinely felt like ours.”
